Andreas Varady is a contemporary jazz guitarist of Hungarian gypsy descent, raised in Ireland and currently based in Vienna. Reaching an international audience in 2010 alongside early mentors such as David Lyttle, Martin Taylor, Tommy Emmanuel and Quincy Jones, he has released five albums, including one for Verve featuring collaborations with Gregory Porter, Roy Hargrove, Dirty Loops and many others. He has performed worldwide for over 15 years, with highlights shows at the Blue Note clubs in New York and Tokyo, Montreux Jazz Festival and Ronnie Scott’s, London, where he was the youngest headliner in the club’s history in 2010. Andreas has supported George Benson on several tours in the US and Europe and has been a guest on stage and in the studio with artists as diverse as Lee Ritenour and Mary J Blige. Andreas’ fifth album ‘Sunrise’ is out April.
