Underground Rock musician Dewey Mahood. His solo home recording project began with the album Interstellar Sounds Of released in 2002. The band name comes from two of his musical heroes, Krautrock producer Conny Plank, and Minutemen bassist Mike Watt. These diverse sources give many clues into Mahood's unique sound world. Playing electric and acoustic guitars, bass, and synthesizers, he has explored multiple genres, but always focuses on mood, texture, and creating sounds filled with meaning and feeling. After years of releasing music on numerous micro labels, Mahood signed with Chicago's Thrill Jockey Records in 2010, and released several records with his band Eternal Tapestry, alongside records by Plankton Wat. Beginning with the album Spirits in 2012 Mahood has worked closely with fellow Portland multi-instrumentalist Dustin Dybvig, and more recently has evolved the project into a 4 piece rock band with Victor Nash on trumpet, and James Shaver on bass. A musical lifer, Mahood began playing in the Northern California punk scene in his hometown of Chico, CA in the 1980's, and has been a staple of the Portland Oregon music scene since his arrival in 1992, playing in bands Elephant Factory, The Cosmos Group, Jackie-O Motherfucker, Blood Biker, Abronia, Rose City Band, and many others.
