2004/2005 debut The Complete Guide to Insufficiency reissued in 2019, remains a cult classic. Broughton was also subject of a documentary “The Ambiguity of David Thomas Broughton” premiered in 2015 and now available on Vimeo On Demamd. Live performances are usually solo performances, acclaimed for their unpredictability. David’s 2016 triple album ‘Crippling Lack’ (lauded by comedian James Acaster as a ‘folk behemoth’) was a culmination of long distance collaboration while he was living in North Korea. His latest release is a live recording from Brighton, during his 2017 UK tour which brought together a different improvised band each night.
