Originally known as Ejecta, Young Ejecta is the gauzy synth pop collaboration between Leanne Macomber and Joel Ford. Ford's other projects include Tigercity and Ford & Lopatin, as well as production work for Autre Ne Veut and Oneohtrix Point Never; Macomber has also worked with Neon Indian and is the driving force behind the cult dream pop act Fight Bite. Macomber and Ford first met and became friends while touring together in 2009, and eventually began working together in 2012. As they traded and refined each others' demos, the concept and character Ejecta -- an embodiment of universal longing and loss -- emerged. In 2013, the duo released its debut single, "Jeremiah (The Denier)," on Driftless Recordings, a label founded by Ford and Patrick McDermott. Later that year, the full-length Dominae arrived. In 2014, Macomber and Ford responded to a cease-and-desist order from the similarly named Irish DJ Ejeca by rechristening themselves Young Ejecta. Their first work under their new name was the mini-album The Planet, which arrived in early 2015. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
