Sinfonia Varsovia is a leading Polish symphony orchestra and an ambassador of Polish culture around the world. It was established in 1984 based on the Polish Chamber Orchestra. It has played under the direction of such famous conductors as Yehudi Menuhin, Grzegorz Nowak, Lorin Maazel, Marc Minkowski and Krzysztof Penderecki, accompanying equally renowned soloists, including Martha Argerich, Maria João Pires, Nigel Kennedy and Mstislav Rostropovich. Sinfonia Varsovia performs at the world’s most prestigious concert halls and festivals, it has also participated in renowned festivals. The orchestra boasts a discography of over 300 albums. Thanks to a decision by Warsaw authorities Sinfonia Varsovia in 2022 will begin the construction of the Sinfonia Varsovia Centrum, a new music center that will include Poland's largest concert hall with nearly 1900 seats.
