Best known for his work with Alice Cooper, Sonia Dada, and Flo & Eddie, Erik Scott has a recording career that stretches back to 1969, making albums with Northern Illinois groups "Food" and "Jambalaya". It was in 1974 he met and played bass with Zappa cohorts and Turtles members Flo and Eddie, and would later record and tour with Alice Cooper. He was a founding member and worked fifteen years with Sonia Dada, the experimental soul, rock, r&b, and gospel group. He recorded with Pops Staples, participating as a writer and player on Pops' 1994 Grammy winning album "Father Father", Mavis Staples, Kim Carnes, and many other artists over a fifty year career, not to mention his composing music for movies and television. His musical love affair and devotion spans until present day where we find him exploring uncharted contemporary New Age terrain, with electric bass as its center point. As a follow-up to his highly praised release Spirits, and after the emotional re-ordering that a cancer diagnosis and recovery brings, Scott re-ignites the fire of ingenuity with In The Company of Clouds, a recording that will leave you marveling at its unexpected yet wholly accessible wonders. Both albums were #1 on the ZMR Airplay Chart, while In The Company of Clouds was voted Album of the Year for 2017. Beautiful as it is technically adept, his current material is virtuosic but never ostentatious, with nods toward ambient sensibilities fleshed out through unique and often complex melodies.
