Fred Haring grew up in Mansfield, Ohio. He entered the music scene in the early 1990's in Columbus, OH playing local clubs and venues. He released his first album "Ghosttowns and Kingdoms" in 1996 on indie label Grandma Katherine's Music to light commercial success but positive critical reviews. During this time he toured the United States with the Vigilantes of Love and Caedmon's Call. In 1999, he returned to the studio and released "This Grand Parade" produced by Georgia Satellites front man, Dan Baird. This Grand Parade got regular play on triple A and college radio in the United States...charting in several states. The album was embraced by European radio and critics. In the summer of 2000, the album made it into the top 10 in Holland. Bob Harris, host of the famous BBC radio/TV show "The Old Grey Whistle Test", placed the song "Changing Stations" in his top 10 list of August 2000. That same month, "This Grand Parade" received a favorable review in Rolling Stone garnering 3 out of 5 stars. Haring toured Holland and Germany in the spring of 2001. In 2002, Haring released "Every Reason That Doesn't Matter" on the German based label Blue Rose Records. It received moderate airplay in Europe but ultimately under performed and Haring retired from music. His songs can be found on television shows such as Supernatural, Cribs and multiple PBS shows.
