Ken Whiteley has a long and honored history on the folk music scene. He is an Estelle Klein Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and has received a Canadian Folk Music Award, Genie Award for the Best Original Song in a Canadian movie, Mariposa Folk Festival Hall of Fame Award plus he has been nominated for 15 Canadian Maple Blues Awards and 7 Canadian JUNO Awards. Whiteley has performed and recorded with many distinguishes artists such as but not limited to Pete Seeger, Jackie Washington, Mose Scarlett, Blind John Davis, Stan Rogers, Tom Paxton, The Campbell Brothers, Guy Davis, John Hammond Jr., Raffi, Fred Penner, Al Simmons, Sharon, Lois & Bram. With his brother Chris, The Whiteley Brothers was the first Canadian act invited to the Chicago Blues Festival and they also performed with Leon Redbone on Saturday Night Live. Whiteley's work as a Producer on 140+ albums has garnered 22 JUNO nominations, 2 GRAMMY nominations and a host of other awards. Most recently he co-produced Fred Penner's JUNO & CFMA award winning recording, "Hear The Music". Watch for Ken Whiteley’s newest recording which will be released on Borealis Records in early 2020.
