Having first come to prominence as a member of the funk-jazz collective Fat Mama, pianist Erik Deutsch has toured and recorded with pop artists like Norah Jones, Dixie Chicks, Rosanne Cash, Citizen Cope, Shooter Jennings, Alice Smith, Phillip Phillips, Shelby Lynne, Teddy Thompson, Joey Arias, Victoria Reed, and Devotchka; and with jazz artists like Charlie Hunter, Theo Bleckmann, Ben Allison, Scott Amendola, Steven Bernstein, Ellery Eskelin, Jim Campilongo, Nels Cline, Jenny Scheinman, Allison Miller, and Art Lande. Erik was a member of the legendary jamgrass ensemble Leftover Salmon from 2016-2020; he's currently the touring keyboardist for The Chicks . A prolific composer and bandleader, Erik's seven albums have received critical acclaim by RollingStone, Jazz Times, USA Today, and the Huffington Post, including Relix magazine naming Deutsch’s "Outlaw Jazz" the #16 best album of 2015. 2020 marked the release of Erik’s 7th album, "Live at LunÁtico", a funky, energetic romp through the worlds of jazz, soul, blues, dub, and pop music. "Chrysanthemum"--a 7" collab with Spencer Zahn--and "Tangled Sea" (the duo debut with LOS banjoist Andy Thorn) were Deutsch's other releases from last year.
