Biography

Craig Wedren is a composer, songwriter and singer who got his start fronting avant-punk pioneers Shudder To Think before expanding into composing scores for film and T.V. Film credits include The School of Rock, Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer (with Theodore Shapiro), Laurel Canyon, and Afternoon Delight; and for T.V., Yellowjackets (with Anna Waronker), New Amsterdam, Shrill, GLOW, Wet Hot American Summer, Fresh Off The Boat, Hung, Reno 911!, and The State, as well as songs and score for the movies High Art, First Love Last Rites and Velvet Goldmine with Shudder To Think and Nathan Larson. Wedren’s solo albums include Lapland, Wand, On in Love (with Jefferson Friedman), and Adult Desire. For Wand and Adult Desire Wedren created a series of pioneering 360° VR music videos and the Adult Desire 360 app. In 2019 Craig published the book “My ‘90s”, a collection of photos from his touring days. He also helmed much-loved NYC disco band Baby with pals Amy Miles and Alex E in the early aughts. Most recently, Craig has been exploring meditation music using just his voice and a looping pedal. These ‘Sabbath Sessions’ serve as a time-out from the demands of everyday life and the formal structure of film and T.V. composing. Over the years, Craig has toured with Fugazi, Foo Fighters, Pavement, Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins, Chris Cornell, and Greg Dulli; and has collaborated with friends/heroes such as Jeff Buckley, John Doe, Robin Zander, Conor Oberst, and OK Go.
