Anders Hagberg is a Swedish flautist, soprano saxophonist, and composer. Improvisation and interdisciplinary collaborations are key aspects his artistry such as working across genres and cultures as well as with other art forms like dance and visual arts. He has toured the world and is featured on a long string of albums, both with his own music and as a soloist in many ensembles such as Winduo, Yggdrasil and Mynta. His collaborations include artists from India, Middle East, Japan, Brazil, West Africa and the US. His long-time connection with Indian and Middle eastern musicians are worth noting. (Avishai Cohen, Ahmad al Khatib, Vikku Vinayarkam, Fazal Qureshi) The solo project TRUST (2018) includes music from collaborations with visual art forms with connections with exhibitions including artists such as Louise Bourgeois and Bill Viola. TRUST has been performed at festivals in South Korea, Iran and Scandinavia. NORTH (2020) is a collaboration of four acknowledged Scandinavian jazz musicians. In May 2022 MA was released, which is recorded in spaces with different acoustics, exploring the room as a co-player in music. The longtime collaboration with organist Johannes Landgren has resulted in the albums Of Air (2004) and Where you Go (2018).
