Biography

Since the debut album in 2005, Swedish sound artist Dag Rosenqvist has released over 30 albums, EP’s and cassette tapes in a vast array of different constellations, the main one being the solo project Jasper TX that was put to rest in 2012. Other constellations include modern classical duo From The Mouth of The Sun (with Aaron Martin), pop/rock outfit De La Mancha and the lo-fi/noise project The Silence Set. Over the years he has collaborated with artists like Machinefabriek, Mike Weis, Simon Scott and Matthew Collings. His discography includes releases on labels like Lost Tribe Sound [US], Denovali [DE], Miasmah [NO] and Fang Bomb [SE]. In addition to releasing regular albums he has created music for dance performances in Sweden as well as for a ballet piece by choreographer Paolo Mangiola, which premiered at The London Royal Opera House fall 2012. In 2016, composer David Wingo selected three From the Mouth of the Sun songs to appear in director Jeff Nichols critically acclaimed sci-fi thriller Midnight Special, and 2017 saw the release of Aaron Martin and Dag Rosenqvist’s first original score for A24’s feature film Menashe, praised at Sundance. The film also won the Jury Prize at the Deauville Film Festival in France. The soundtrack, released on Wayfind Records, scored a perfect 10 at Soundtrackdreams.com. Dag has also created original music for acclaimed American horror film Toad Road, directed by Jason Banker. Dag Rosenqvist is currently residing in Gothenburg, Sweden.
