Biography

A group specializing in classic Hungarian folk yet maintaining a decidedly contemporary outlook, Kárpátia released their Istenért, Hazáért album in 2008. The Top Ten release was a boon for the seven-piece band (featuring the talents of Dávid Eredics on clarinet and sax; Dániel Bolya on whistles, kaval, and tilinko; Mátyás Bolya on koboz and citera; Balázs Jakabffy on darabuka, davul, and daf; László Nyíri on fiddle; Búzás Attila on double bass; and Beáta Palya on vocals), named after a famous mountain region that borders its home country. ~ Chris True, Rovi
