Sonny Geraci first made an impact singing lead for the Cleveland rock quintet the Outsiders, scoring a number five hit single in 1966 with "Time Won't Let Me," a song destined to become a staple on collections from the period for years to come. The group would not duplicate that feat, but they would chart another trio of Top 40 hits that year, including a version of the Isley Brothers' "Respectable." In 1972, Geraci would achieve the rare distinction of having another Top Ten single with a different act when he put together the Los Angeles-based band Climax and their song "Precious and Few" climbed to the top of the charts, earning a gold record.
