Cross Country

Biography

This Brooklyn-born trio comprised of Jay Siegel (b. 20 October 1939; baritone vocals) and the Margo brothers, Phil (b. 1 April 1942; bass vocals) and Mitch (b. 25 May 1947; tenor vocals). Formerly three quarters of the 60s group the Tokens, after founder member Hank Medress had left in 1970, they changed their name to Cross Country and reached the US Top 30 in October 1973 with a harmony update of Wilson Pickett’s 1965 soul smash ‘In The Midnight Hour’. They disbanded a year later and moved into producing and writing, especially Phil who concentrated his attention towards the movies, notably acting and writing screenplays.
