Emcee J is a Mexican/American Rapper and Producer. Growing up in Emporia, KS, he picked up the love for music in 5th grade when he picked up the Tenor Saxophone. Till this day, he still plays the saxophone along side the guitar and piano. After moving to Rochester, MN in 2017, he then started beat production and posted them on Soundcloud and Youtube his sophomore year of high school using an online program called SoundTrap. After he found about GarageBand, he made his beats and recorded vocals on there. After graduating from Rochester Community and Technical College with an Associates Degree in Music Creative Technologies in 2022, he upgraded to Logic Pro and used all that he learned to add more variety in his music. Now Emcee J works with a group of musicians called, Dark Gems, including: Blake Shepperd, DaboFlai, Just Jayden, Jae Havoc, Zay3, and others from different parts of Minnesota.
