Biography

LUCIA PULIDO is a Colombian singer with one of the richest voices in the contemporary Latin American music scene. She possesses an experimental style based on traditional music from Colombia and Mexico. ​By means of a wide range of repertory Lucía offers an unusual vocal versatility that reflects a profound knowledge of the music she interprets and of the possibilities of her own voice. ​ She has been invited by famed institutions such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City and has participated in various festivals worldwide: Glatt Und Verkehrt in Austria, Usadba Jazz in Russia, Jazz al Parque in Bogotá, Hue Fest in Vietnam and Rudolstadt Festival in Germany, among others. She has also participated in the following films: Film ist. A girl and a Gun by Austrian director Gustav Deutsh, Era o Hotel Cambridge by Brazilian director Eliane Caffé, In Jackson Heights by American documentalist Frederick Wiseman, and But Beautiful by Austrian director Erwin Wagenhofer. In 2022 she was part of the performance Unveilings: A Song to the Wind, commissioned for the presentation of the Truth Commission Report in Colombia. ​She is considered one of the artists that has left an imprint on the history of Jazz in Colombia. Lucía is currently leading various projects with musicians in New York, Mexico, Europe and various Latin American countries. Her extensive artistic career includes performances in the United States, Asia, Europe, Canada, and Latin America.
