International music producer, Robert Strauss (originally born in Canada) has a musical history dating back to his first major label signing as an indie hard rock singer / songwriter in 1993. Introduced to the thriving 2000's underground club scene in Toronto, Canada, Robert Strauss' quirky yet musical brand of ‘electronic funk’ soon found it's way onto the global stage via classic UK labels: Freerange Records, BBE Music, Soul Jazz Records, Defected Records, Tokyo Dawn Records (Germany) aswell as featured on compilations by Louie Vega, Kenny Dope , Dimitri From Paris, Osunlade, Dj Spinna and Joey Negro. This period also found him collaborating with the legendary Leroy Burgess, Baatin (Slum Village) & Moka Only alongside Toronto based vocal standouts: Richie Hennessey, Ayah, Saidah Baba Talibah and Wayne Tennant. Strauss’ strongest work from this period was also later remixed by the likes of International artists: Recloose, Jimpster, Henrik Schwarz, Joey Negro, Osunlade, Yam Who? + Canada's Middlefield. Since his first vinyl release as producer in 2004, Robert Strauss has worked under various aliases including JAPHY SAATCHI (his 80’s prince inspired vocal persona), as producer, composer and band leader for his 70’s retro soul / jazz group called Personal Life, and currently as founder of WX//CLTV, an umbrella label for Strauss’ many global production aliases including: Transpiritual (house / electronica) and WX//CLTV (wonky beats), D/S/T/N/C/E (ambient) and beyond.
