The Everyday Seperation

Rings

Biography

Formed in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, Absinthe Blind was composed of guitarist/vocalist Adam Fein, guitarist/keyboardist Tristan Wraight, bassist Mike Zolfo, keyboardist/vocalist Erin Fein and drummer Seth Fein. Unsurprisingly, considering that Wraight spent much of his childhood in England, the band's neo-psychedelic pop is drawn from mostly British sources, such as Radiohead, The Verve, The Stone Roses, and My Bloody Valentine, as well as Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd. Absinthe Blind's initial album, When Our Flashes Sway, was issued in 1997 by Hammerhead; it was followed a year later by Solarshift and in 2000 by Music for Security. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi In 2001, Absinthe Blind moved to the Parasol/Mud label group and released The Everyday Separation (2001) and Rings (2003). Rings was highly regarded with songs featured in Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Project Greenlight in a film called “Speakeasy” and the longtime CBS drama, “Cold Case”. Rings spent 4 weeks on the CMJ Top 200 peaking at #78 and was dubbed a “neo-psychedelic epic” [Stewart Mason, All Music]. Members went on to perform in Headlights, Gazelle (Sunblown) and Psychic Twin.
