Biography

Ton Snijders was born in Lisse in The Netherlands. The family in which he grew up, loved music. Both his parents played the piano and listening to -mainly classical- music was a popular pastime. In 1991 Snijders was asked to join the Frank Boeijen Band. In 1994 Snijders contributed as a pianist to an album which Boeijen produced for Liesbeth List. Since that time Snijders has been List's regular pianist until the end of her career in 2017. In 2004 he decided to make a long-lasting dream come true: making the solo album/DVD 'Zwaluw 22' which was released in 2007. In 2009 he toured with Stef Bos. In 2010 Snijders' second solo album 'Thuis' was released, the year in which he also performed together with Frank Boeijen, Liesbeth List and Youp van 't Hek (Omdat de nacht). In 2011 Snijders played with Frank Boeijen and in Youp van 't Hek's New Year's Conference 'De 2e viool'. Besides he produced the music for the children's musical of the annual Emmy Verhey Festival in Zaltbommel. In 2014 a new CD called 'Ode to a dream' was released. The CD consists of instrumental parts which he composed together with Sebastiaan Koolhoven under the name of Lonesome Orchestra. In recent years Snijders has toured mostly with Frank Boeijen. Most of the new Boeijen songs were also recorded and mixed in Snijders’ Teclats studio in Velp. In 2020 and 2021 Snijders released several instrumental singles. His new single Waltzing Flower is out now.
