Syracuse-native rapper Stove God Cooks is among the leading voices of hip-hop’s gritty, lyrically-inclined resurgence, earning him critical and fan acclaim. His music is distinguished by a plethora of quotable lyrics, vivid imagery, and his patented hard-hitting delivery, which is as unconventional as it is alluring. His lyrics touch on his life in the streets, how poverty and violence shaped his upbringing, and his aspirations to be hip-hop’s next star. Much of his storytelling ability lies in his ability to subtly allude to illicit activity – “Cooks can you stop with all the drug innuendos?” he raps on Bread of Life – and penchant for double-entendres. Since capping off his nationwide tour with Conway The Machine in the fall of 2021, Cooks has been finding exposure through features, interviews, and press runs while he finishes his sophomore project. He tapped in with French Montana and DJ Drama in January 2023 to deliver a couple of stellar verses on the song "Intro," continuing his hot streak from 2022 when he appeared on 2 Chainz, Westside Gunn, and Benny The Butcher's albums. What's more, Rolling Stone named him one of the "11 Rappers to Make It Big in 2023." Cooks carries strong momentum into 2024, as he was featured on multiple tracks on Westside Gunn's 2023 album "And Then They Pray For Me" including the fan favorite "Kitchen Lights." He also collaborated with Benny the Butcher for his single "One Foot In" which will appear on Benny's 2024 major label debut album.
