In 2001 Lee Ryan found international acclaim as a member of boyband Blue The band sold over 16 million albums worldwide including 3 UK #1 albums & two Brit Awards. Collaborations included Sir Elton John ("Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word”), Stevie Wonder (“Signed, Sealed, Delivered”) & Kool & The Gang (“Get Down On It”) to name but a few. In 2005, Blue took a hiatus to pursue individual projects at which point Lee released his debut album “Lee Ryan” which included the tracks “Turn Your Car Around” & “Army of Lovers”. In 2009 Blue reunited for the Capital FM, Summertime Ball in London performing on stage with Lionel Richie before going onto represent the UK in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. A 2012 album (“Roulette”) recorded in Los Angeles with Red One (Lady Gaga) followed, with international tours across 2012 & 2013. The band’s fifth studio album “Colours” followed in 2015 & after a successful UK Tour promoting the album, Lee was diagnosed with a cancerous growth on his vocal cords requiring urgent surgery & leaving his future as a vocalist in doubt. Subsequent Blue tours were cancelled as Lee battled to regain his health and voice. It was during this time he turned to song writing as an escape spending time in Berlin, Sweden & North America before returning to the UK & turning his hand to acting (BBC Eastenders) & an appearance on BBC Strictly Come Dancing. Blue are once again seemingly on a hiatus as each of the boys’ follow their individual paths.
