Stoneygate is an electronic artist and producer from the UK's East Midlands. Having been based in Leicestershire for most of her life, she now lives and works in the historic city of Lincoln. Having started out playing acoustic guitar from a young age and songwriting from not long after that, Stoneygate discovered she was a frustrated producer when she started recording her songs with a friend, and began to make electronic demos to speed up the process. After the friend moved away, she enrolled on a production course, got completely stuck in and hasn't looked back. With eclectic influences which range from Everything but the Girl to Boards of Canada, via Kate Bush, Blondie, John Adams, 80s Synthpop (and plenty more), Stoneygate is creating a relaxing blend of filmscore, downtempo, chillout and trip hop tunes. She is trying to keep her eclectic side more in check these days by starting side-projects, and the first of these is a cinematic project called Fake Filmscore, with an album release on its way in Oct 2021. Since releasing her 2nd album Survival in 2018, Stoneygate's been enjoying collaborating with a bunch of other artists . Amongst the highlights are remix EPs for MoonDreams Music and John Clark, and a re-imagination of a new Manipulant song featuring none other than the late Lee Scratch Perry on vocals.
