Biography

Three affiliates of the Bugz in the Attic extended family -- Orin Walters (Afronaught), Kaidi Tatham (Agent K), and Alex Phountzi -- formed broken beat's first power trio in the late '90s. They also released one of the scene's first full-length albums with 1999's The Future Ain't the Same as It Used 2 B, but before that, they were releasing singles sporadically on the Laws of Motion label ("Theme From Firefly," the trio's debut, was issued back in 1997). Like most of their West London peers, Neon Phusion's productions are post-drum'n'bass blends of jazz-funk, contemporary R&B, Afro-beat, and jazzy house. Outside of Neon Phusion, Walters, Tatham, and Phountzi have been prolific with several other collaborations and solo projects. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
