Biography

“As for the Music, it never seems to end. It always evolves along with its creator. I personally never approach the instrument the same way, and the music always seems to flow… sometimes with total disregard for key signatures”. (Alan J. Prince) Alan J. Prince has spent a lifetime studying music for guitar and keyboard. His extensive musical studies have included classical guitar and piano, jazz guitar, music theory, and even heavy metal. Mr. Prince studied classical guitar with instructors Paul Henry, (Roosevelt University), and Maestro Jack Ceccini. He also studied jazz guitar with Timothy Burns (Moraine Valley College), and classical piano with Dr. Eugene Schlabach (Triton College). His studies also included heavy metal, improvisation, and fusion with renowned shredder guitarist and GIT student, (Hawk), Orest Dyziak. Mr. Prince is currently working on a very dark, ‘Imaginary Disasters’, album, which exemplifies everything from Death and Doom Metal, to symphonic and choral church music. He has recently released his latest, (quite bizarre), version of Black Sabbaths, 'Black Sabbath', which is definitely his darkest work to date. According to Mr. Prince, 'The world truly needed this'. And, ‘Unchained Malady’, which is a collection of original orchestral and choral works, truly a testament of his love for 20th century classical music, the likes of everything from, Aaron Copeland, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gerald Finzi, Samual Barber, Arvo Part and Carl Orff.
