Vishaka is an LA based South Indian - American artist. Her music features a glimpse into her Tamil culture and upbringing. Born in India, she tries to blend her Eastern roots and her Western upbringing to create fusion music featuring Tamil and English lyrics. She is inspired by life as it happens to and around her, and often draws from personal experiences to create music. Vishaka’s passion for song writing and singing began at a young age. She was part of choirs at school, and was in a band. After she went viral on social media in 2021, she recognized the lack of Tamil representation in Western media and began releasing music in hopes to bridge that gap.
