Clocked Out create and produce innovative music, interarts, and intercultural events that extend experimental traditions in engaging and thought provoking ways. They use music as a vehicle to explore central cultural issues such as environmentalism, multi-culturalism, and interactions of science and music. The creative outlet of Vanessa Tomlinson and Erik Griswold, Clocked Out's output includes original music for percussion and piano, a variety of artistic collaborations, concert series, tours, and festivals. Based in Melbourne and Brisbane over the past 17 years, their activities have included: original music for percussion, found objects, prepared piano and toy instruments; site-specific events highlighting music and environment; ongoing collaborations with musicians from Sichuan province; projects highlighting links between science, architecture and music; performances and recontextualizations of historical avant garde works; commissioning and presenting works by innovative composers; collaborating and presenting leading Australian and International artists and Ensembles; national and international tours.
