Biography

Mike Lowry’s music is guitar-driven southern influenced Americana-Rock. With the mixed influences of Tom Petty, Allman Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Nirvana, Muddy Waters, and Waylon Jennings, Mike creates a new and innovative yet familiar sound with his music.
Mike became a fixture in the Atlanta roots music scene during the “golden era” mid-2000’s, holding residencies at famed Atlanta haunts like Darwins, Fuzzy’s and Northside Tavern. Lowry has honed his craft while playing with legends, having spent several years touring and recording with blues troubadour Tinsley Ellis, appearing on his Alligator Records release Moment of Truth. Southern rock pioneers Wet Willie with Jimmy Hall have called on his guitar skills for their later reunion shows. Mike went on to pursue a solo career. As his notoriety and live performances took off, he jumped to larger stages— opening for John Mayer, Buddy Guy, Dr. John, Levon Helm and every southern boys’ dream— Lynyrd Skynyrd. Thousands of gigs later, Mike Lowry is a full-fledged guitar master, session musician and songwriter capable of delivering an incendiary live show of well crafted original music.
