Meet The Northern Pikes. Yes, those Northern Pikes. You know 'em, you love 'em, all those iconic Canadian hits such as "She Ain't Pretty," "Teenland," "Hopes Go Astray," "Wait For Me," "Things I Do For Money," "Kiss Me You Fool" and "Girl With A Problem." But now, the band is back and reinvigorated, with a brand-new album, Forest Of Love, full of edgy, guitar-heavy rock songs with gorgeous, catchy harmonies and choruses. What started out as shows to celebrate the 30th anniversary reissue of the group's classic debut Big Blue Sky in 2017 turned into the Pikes' biggest tour in a couple of decades, 29 dates right across the country. Frenzied fans were thrilled to hear their favourites, and meanwhile the band got a shot in the arm thanks to the addition of guitarist Kevin Kane (The Grapes Of Wrath) to flesh out their stage sound. Thrilled with the results, original members Bryan Potvin, Jay Semko and Don Schmid asked Kane if he wanted to join permanently, and did he want to make a new album? Yes and yes. The result is a 10-track explosion, the Pikes first new studio album in 16 years, the same classic songwriting and driving guitar, but with a new energy. Featuring smart lyrics sung by three different vocalists, big rockers and instant anthems, Forest Of Love is the surprise recording rebirth of the beloved Northern Pikes.
