Biography

Gui Boratto impact on the rise of Brazilian electronic music in the past 15 years is undeniable. Born in São Paulo, he initially worked as a producer, audio engineer, and multi-instrumentalist in the 90s, collaborating with renowned artists across various genres. Despite success behind the scenes, Boratto creative drive led him to produce his own music. His breakthrough came with the release of his highly acclaimed album 'Chromophobia' in 2007 on the German label Kompakt. This marked the beginning of a fruitful relationship with Kompakt, where he has since released five full-length albums and contributed high-profile remixes for artists like Massive Attack, Bomb The Bass, and Pet Shop Boys. Gui Boratto influence extends globally, with an innovative live show that takes him to iconic venues worldwide. His contribution to the electronic scene goes beyond personal success; he actively nurtures up-and-coming Brazilian talent through his music label D.O.C., founded in 2013 and distributed by Kompakt. As a co-producer, he collaborates with rising stars such as L_CIO, Shadow Movement, and Elekfantz, contributing to the continued growth of the Brazilian electronic music scene. In summary, Gui Boratto pioneering work, both as an artist and a mentor to emerging talent, has played a crucial role in shaping and elevating Brazilian electronic music on the global stage over the past 15 years.
