Jeremy Toback is a post-rock singer-songwriter, who “takes the deeply personal and blasts it into the cosmos, then reverses the process" -- John Payne (LA Weekly). He wound his way from early Silverlake days onto Brad’s mysterious 1993 debut, Shame, a record of heartbreak ballads and dark grooves that splashed and vanished at the height of grunge… Then released a solo Jeremy Toback EP of strummed-bass art rock, which features LA improv gurus like Wilco’s Nels Cline and G.E. Stinson on guitars. From there, Jeremy found starker textures with NY icons Melvin Gibbs, Dougie Bowne and Ivan Julian on Perfect Flux Thing, veered toward singer-songwriter convention on 1999’s Another True Fiction... and seemingly disappeared into silence. In reality, he slipped behind the board to produce two beautiful alt-country infected mantra records for Sada Sat Kaur… Before resurfacing as half of the indie-folk duo Renee & Jeremy, known for the Nick Drake quiet of records like It's a Big World, A Little Love, Whole Lotta Love, and Shout! Plus now, long last, new solo singles, Conjuring & Truth Falls.
