The Woven Project; a lo-fi acoustic/electronica experimental band from the north east coast of England, who’s sonic seeds started 13yrs ago, in early 2009, when rehearsing some covers for a friends birthday party that never happened, but original music/song started to form. The band Initiallly starting out as a duo called ‘Woven’, then collaborating with a multitude of musicians on original song from all corners of the UK, then became The Woven Project. With local and regional acclaim from two songs recorded in April 2009 and uploaded to MySpace, they performed regularly at festivals including Greenman, Solfest and regulars at local festivals Stockton Weekender, Middlesbrough Music Live amongst others, gracing stages supporting Jesca Hoop, King Creosote, Seth Lekman, The Unthanks, Grand Archives, Rachel Sermanni combining other gigs and festivals, racked up 150+ performances, entrancing audiences with their melancholic blissful laments. Added to that; 4 BBC Tees Introducing Sessions with Bob Fischer, numerous local radio plays with BBC Tees/Leeds/Newcastle and Amazing Radio, and national radio plays on BBC Radio 6 music too. Also befriended the talented Georgia Seddon (daughter of Mike Herron, Incredible String Band) with collaborative gigs/festivals and recording to much praise. The Woven Project released their first acoustic folk tinged EP in July 2011, and after a 5yr hiatus (2013-2018) are back with a 6 track EP, released in early 2023 on Shy Bairn Records.
