Stian Carstensen is the renowned multi-talented musician and leading light of the critically acclaimed band Farmers Market. He is actively involved in various musical genres and plays an increasing number of solo concerts, classical, jazz, and folk, worldwide. Stian is a multiple prize-winning recipient of Norwegian Music Industry Awards and internationally recognized for groundbreaking work blending different styles and traditions to push the boundaries of what is considered feasible. Stian released the critically acclaimed album "Musical Sanatorium" in October 2021; a conceptual solo album that explores the world of odd rhythms within Balkan music with the tonal language of European classical music. Contributing artists include Ola Kvernberg, Mike Patton from Faith No More and Tomahawk, and young Brit wünderkind Jacob Collier and Todd Terje.
