Jonna is a Finnish singer-songwriter on a mission to raise mental health awareness through her music. She was first discovered in 2002 by the producers of a reality TV show "Popstars" as they chose her to be one of the four girls in the first "Popstars" band in Finland. Jonna soon left the band and signed a record deal with Sony Music as a solo artist and released 3 albums with them between 2003-2006. Her music was the first of its kind to combine American influenced pop r’n’b sounds with Finnish lyrics and it paved the way for many Finnish pop artists to come. She has been nominated several times at Emma-gala (the Finnish Grammys), had top hits on the Finnish charts and booming National radio play in Finland. Jonna broke away from the record label after her 3rd album and moved to Los Angeles. There she met Nikki Forova and they started co-writing songs for Jonna's album. While searching for the right producer and sound, Jonna got a bachelor's degree in pop and jazz vocal performance in Finland. During a study abroad year at the Royal College of music in Stockholm, Sweden, she started experimenting with vocal pedals and found the direction for her album. Finally in 2015, she crowdfunded, co-produced and released her independent album ”SOUND MIND”. After touring in Europe, Jonna moved back to Cali and took every chance to perform in the Bay Area, LA and even in Las Vegas. In 2017 she relocated to NYC to continue breaking stigma around mental health issues with her music.
