For over a decade Daniel Avery has shone as one of the scene’s most forward-thinking artists. Ultra Truth (2022) saw Avery reach his highest point yet; a distorted fever dream - riled, determined & alive. Featuring Marie Davidson, A.K. Paul, Jonnine (HTRK), HAAi, SHERELLE, Kelly Lee Owens & James Massiah, the album showcases a decade of experimentation, from Wall of Sleep’s searing breakbeats to Lone Swordsman - a spectral tribute to mentor Andrew Weatherall, who described Avery as "gimmick-free machine funk of the highest order” in 2012. Weatherall’s endorsement helped start a journey that gained momentum with the release of debut album Drone Logic (2013), beginning a 10-year partnership with Erol Alkan & Phantasy Sound. Drone Logic was followed by Song for Alpha (2018), Love & Light (2020), Illusion of Time (2020, recorded with Alessandro Cortini of Nine Inch Nails, who Avery toured with in 2018) & Together In Static (2021). The diverse textures of Avery’s music (spanning ambient, hardcore & techno with instinctive rock sensibilities) informed a live show that toured the world in 2022. DJing remains constant, whether solo or b2b with the likes of Helena Hauff, DJ Stingray, IMOGEN or Richard Fearless - co-creator of psychedelic Sunday party, Goo. Underlining his passion for club culture, 2024 saw Avery revisit his Divided Love party at fabric, alongside new fabric Originals singles Wonderland & Digital Rain, continuing a kinship that began with his 2012 FABRICLIVE66 CD.
