Mark started his musical journey in the mid 1980's, driven by a love of soul, hip hop and funk, it wasn't long before sampling and DJ culture took over his life. The adventure reached critical mass in Manchester in the early 1990's. Various club nights were created, followed by a record shop, Fat City, which in turn led to the creation of the label Grand Central. Mark has written an autobiography called Northern Sulphuric Soulboy, which was released in 2015. This was followed in 2021 by The Caterpillar Club, Mark's first novel, a project which is backed with an instrumental soundtrack. Mark is currently writing his second novel and is in the process of completing the soundtrack to accompany the project. The book and its music should be expected some time in 2024.
