In a November 2018 article, Chill Magazine wrote: "Multi-hyphenated artist Adam Davenport is bringing black visibility into some of the most whitewashed worlds, including opera and EDM." Davenport made his debut in electronic dance music with "My Return Address is You," (featuring Shanica Knowles) which made him the first African-American artist/producer to eponymously chart on Billboard for Electronic Dance Music after the song dominated the Billboard Dance Club Chart for 10 weeks. The record, also remixed by Grammy-nominated StoneBridge, peaked at #23 where it surpassed tracks from the likes of Zedd, Jax Jones, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. Davenport graduated from Yale University and lives in New York. He frequently collaborates with Jonathan Shulman of Proper Villains and is a member of the Recording Academy. As an actor, he has performed on such internationally-renowned stages as Theatre Row, Carnegie Hall and The Metropolitan Opera (Aida, Tosca).
