Globally acclaimed Queen of Dancehall Spice represents the authentic spirit of dancehall culture. She has been a cultural ambassador for the entire Caribbean for over two decades internationally. Gaining recognition after earning her first co-sign in the genre from Bounty Killa in 1998. After engaging in a lyrical exchange amongst several of dancehall’s prominent male deejays on spot at a community stage show in Portmore, Jamaica. Impressed with how lyrically inclined she was, the deejay told her she reminded him of the former queen and that she was up next to be the genre’s leading lady. From there she began to attend local stage shows and street dances which allowed her to prove herself a force to reckon with and here to stay. Her first hit single, "Fight Over Man" was released in 2005, gained an immense amount of rotation further cementing her space in the genre. Spice's impact extends far beyond the borders of Jamaica, reaching dancehall aficionados across the globe. She has also been cited as one of diamond selling American rapper Cardi B's Influences and Inspirations. Her musical catalog include collaborations with international superstars including the Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj, Sean Paul, Missy Elliott, Kid Ink, Jeremih, Mýa, Shaggy, and many more. In 2021, her debut “10” album was nominated for Best Reggae Album of the Year at the 63rd Annual Grammys. Making Spice the first and hardcore female artist to earn a solo Grammy nomination ever in that category.
