Biography

Joe Byrd, grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, listening to R&B, Jazz, Blues, and Gospel. After his parents noticed at a very young age that he was playing melodies to songs he’d heard on the radio, on a toy guitar. It was clear that Joe had an ear and talent for music, so his dad bought him an electric guitar for his 11th birthday. From that point, he and that guitar were inseparable. Although underage, by the age of 15 Joe was playing well enough to perform with much older and experienced musicians in local clubs. His main influences on guitar were, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Pass, Larry Carlton, and other guitar greats. After graduating from high school at 17, Joe went on tour with a rock band and sharpened his performing skills. After many years playing and recording with and for various well-known artists, Joe decided to expand his opportunities and relocate to Los Angeles in 2005. Since then, Joe has recorded and produced five albums; “The Heart Speaks,” “From the Soul to the Strings,” “7 Levels.” “Moving On,” and the latest 2021 release, “I Remember.” Joe has also performed with artists such as Chante Moore, Kenny Latimore, CeCe Winans, and many others. The most recent album, “I Remember,” is a diversion from earlier projects, because all acoustic instruments were used lending to a more organic sound. Joe is currently working on new music for film, TV, and other producing music for other artists.
