Biography

Over the past two decades, Devon-based collective, Crazy Arm, have developed an accomplished, creative, sprawling mess of hardcore/punk, roots and vintage rock’n’roll with a libertarian socialist slant. Each of their four albums on Xtra Mile Recs – Born To Ruin ('Stunning' Kerrang!); Union City Breath ('A triumph from start to finish' Punktastic); The Southern Wild ('A glorious surprise' R2); Dark Hands, Thunderbolts ('Staggeringly ambitious' Record Collector) – has showcased a band at the top of their game and made them many fans around the globe. They have also released a dozen singles including a split 7" with Frank Turner. Over the years, Crazy Arm developed another side to their forte: playing stripped-down acoustic shows that reflect their love of trad roots, bluegrass and Americana (see: The Southern Wild). They have played nearly 700 shows, and toured UK/Europe many times as headliners and with the likes of Against Me!, Chuck Ragan, Larry and His Flask, Austin Lucas, Restorations, Muncie Girls, Boysetsfire, Frank Turner, Bangers and Apologies, i have none. The band have appeared at many popular festivals including 2000 Trees (UK), Reading/Leeds (UK), Boomtown (UK), Groezrock (Belgium), Riez (Germany), Mighty Sounds (Czechia) and Pouzza (Canada). Crazy Arm toured Canada for the first time in May '23 (with Eamon McGrath) and released the single 'Floating Bones' to coincide with the trip. Talk of a new record is ongoing as of May '24.
