Born in Cuba and raised in Chicago, Eddie Turner got the musical bug when he was 12 . He would get his education by sneaking into local clubs to hear the greats like Howlin’ Wolf & Jimmy Smith But seeing Tommy Bolin in Zephyr kicked his dream into high gear. He was invited to join Mother Earth, the band of singer Tracey Nelson . Departing that group and meeting Candy and David Givens he finally landed the guitar spot in Zephyr and played on their last album Heartbeat. After Zephyr his friend/bass player Kenny Passarelli (Joe Walsh, Stephen Stills) called him to form The Otis Taylor Band They toured the U.S. & Europe, recording 5 albums . Eddie is “A visionary & maybe, a misunderstood artist. He doesn’t fit the standard Blues guitarist category,” Kenny Passarelli proclaims. A diverse blend of rock voodoo blues and R&B peppered with African rhythms. Turner’s music moves the feet while haunting the soul.
