Biography

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Carla Morrison is reinvigorated and has returned to music. Over the past few years, Morrison has explored who she was and who she wanted to become, yielding empowerment from both. She considered how a change of scenery might broaden her outlook and relocated to Paris. Exploring the museums of Paris led Morrison to Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, where she saw herself—finally accepting her innate beauty. Today, Carla Morrison wants nothing more than to be happy, and for her listeners to find their own happiness too. She has now welcomed her long-standing love of R&B and pop into her sound—styles which she previously steered cleared from for fear of alienating fans. “I wanted to put more rhythm, more sassiness, in the music,” she says, adding that universal appeal was a goal. “I feel like I finally learned who I was, and that's one of the things that helps you navigate life in a better way,” Morrison says. “That was my rebirth—for my mind and my soul.”
Over the course of five albums, her honest approach has earned her Latin Grammy wins, numerous Grammy nominations and collaborations with the likes of Ricky Martin, J Balvin, and Macklemore. Returning to the music scene with a new powerful song, Morrison is reinvented, mature and confident while conserving the raw revelations of emotional and personal heartbreaks that are the bedrock of Morrison’s material. This is Carla Morrison’s Renacimiento.
