Day of Contempt lies in the depths of the metal, hardcore crossover. The Adelaide, Australia based band dominated through an onslaught of throat-shredding vocals and heavy, abrasive guitars, reinforced by smashed out, beats. Day of Contempt contrasted their aggressive, groove-laden assault, with hints of melody. Day of Contempt emerged at the beginning of 1998. After releasing 2 demos, mid 1999 saw Day of Contempt release their debut EP “Where Shadows Lie” on Trial and Error. Day of Contempt went on to record “See Through the Lies” which was released by Resist records/Goodlife recordings and “The Will To Live” on Epitaph. Both during Day of Contempt’s lifespan and in posthumous reunions, they toured with Earth Crisis, One King Down, Throwdown, Terror, Every Time I Die, Alexisonfire, Underoath, Bury Your Dead, Good Charlotte, Avenged Sevenfold and Mindsnare. Half of the band’s roots were in hardcore and the other half were in grind with the fusion creating the musical style that was embodied by Day of Contempt.
