Biography

Best known for his work on the wildly-successful videogames LEAGUE OF LEGENDS and BIOSHOCK INFINITE, Duncan Watt's musical career spans a wide variety of work in television, film, and games. As studio musician, producer and sideman, Watt worked on more than 70 album projects before focusing on game composing in 2005. Watt's videogame work includes ARENA OF VALOR (aka Honor Of Kings), NEED FOR SPEED UNDERCOVER, STAR TREK: TIMELINES, and features in the blockbuster film NOW YOU SEE ME and many TV shows, trailers and commercials. His solo-piano score for THIRD EYE CRIME (2014) broke ground in the game medium, and his evocative, experimental 2019 score for THE STATION "blurs the lines between musical underscore and environmental ambient sound". Watt is also the voice of League Of Legends' fan-favorites Rammus and Blitzcrank. On stage, Watt has played sideman for such luminaries as ALEX CHILTON, and continues to play live with bands THANKS TO GRAVITY, THE MAMMALS, and PAINTBOX. In 2000, Watt released the self-recorded EP SIX SONGS OF GOOD AND EVIL, a self-described 'bleeder', as an experiment in DIY record production. In 2014, Watt joined Jon Briggs to form DEEP-SKY PILOTS, an experimental industrial project which produced two albums, THE FIVE SECTIONS (2014) and THE FOUR SECTIONS (2019). A regular jam-night produced the collective jam-band TROPHY GOAT, which released its first album FOAM PLUG in early 2019. Additionally, Watt and Briggs have hosted THE MUSE PODCAST since 2016.
