Biography

Yeasayer was founded in 2005 in Brooklyn, NY by Anand Wilder , Chris Keating and Ira Wolf Tuton. They released their first full length album All Hour Cymbals to critical acclaim in October of 2007, and toured the world with fellow artists MGMT , Beck , Man Man , Chairlift , Tame Impala , and Suckers . Yeasayer signed with Secretly Canadian in 2009 and recorded their follow up Odd Blood at the country estate of Jerry Marotta , the longtime drummer of Peter Gabriel . The music videos for hit singles O.N.E. and Ambling Alp further established the band as art rock impresarios with a distinct musical and artistic vision. Their third album Fragrant World explored a more electronic sound palette, with masterful mixes by Dan Carey, and a world tour followed featuring a groundbreaking stage show with light sculptures by Casey Reas in collaboration with Aranda/Lasch. Their fourth album Amen & Goodbye was co-produced with Joey Waronker and featured percussion by longtime David Byrne percussionist Mauro Refosco. A few months after their final album Erotic Reruns was released the band called it quits, after 14 years of working together. In 2021 Chris Keating scored the soundtrack to feature film Body Brokers. That same year, Anand Wilder signed to Last Gang Records, and released singles Delirium Passes and I Don’t Want Our Love To Become Routine.
